Christine Nordhagen Inducted to HOF |

Alberta Sports Hall of Fame Inductee: Christine Nordhagen
The Alberta Amateur Wresting Association is proud to announce that Christine Nordhagen was inducted into the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame in Red Deer, Alberta as an athlete. Hailing from Valhalla Centre in North West Alberta, Christine came into wrestling at the age of 20 at the University of Alberta. Quickly taking to the sport, Christine won her first World Medal (a silver) in 1993 in Stavern, Norway. Christine won her first of 6 World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria in 1994. In all, Christine amassed 8 World Championship medals, 2 Pan Am Championships and 2 World Cup medals as well as winning a host of other international medals and winning 10 Senior National Championships.

Now living in Calgary, the mother of 3 continues to be an ambassador for Canadian Wrestling as an assistant coach. Christine also has an accomplished career as a motivational speaker. Christine also hosts her own international tournament for Junior-Aged women to help develop women's wrestling around the world. Teams from Austria, Korea, Japan, the United States are among some of the notable countries that have attended the Nordhagen Classic. Christine was the first-ever female inductee to both the FILA and CAWA Halls of fame and is a member of the International Museum of Women.
